Type 1 Tympanoplasty by Interlay Technique for Management of Tympanic Membrane Perforation

Tympanic membrane is the partition between external ear and middle layer which a vital component of human ear. Neglected or maltreated earache, discharge trauma lead to perforation tympanic membrane. Tympanoplasty surgical procedure performed repair perforated membrane, with/without reconstruction ossicles, with aim preventing reinfection restoring hearing ability. Type 1 tympanoplasty simple closure perforation. To study outcome type operation by interlay technique, descriptive longitudinal was conducted among 200 patients in Community Based Medical College Hospital private clinics Mymensingh from January 2012 December 2021. Our inclusion criteria population age ranging 15 55 yrs both sexes having dry central for at least 6 weeks exclusion patient active stage chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM), ossicular discontinuity, sensory neural loss. Data analyzed SPSS version 20.0. Prevalence taking graft 96.00%. Measured difference preoperative air bone gap (ABG) postoperative ABG decibel (dB) improvement rate 90%. Complication minimal (1%). The complication infection due non-compliance advice treatment. done technique has excellent results terms taken complications.
